Lessig argues that beyond partisanship, the system is broken (totally?). There’s a disconnect between elected officials and the people they represent, which can cause too much distraction for Congress (spending they’re time dialing for dollars, navigating new obstacles to intelligent legislation) instead of representing their constituencies. This in turn, causes disillusionment and anger amongst those they represent.
I suppose, if accurate, then it’s all of our faults for centralizing our focus and will upon Washington (in some not so good ways). Part of a larger trend? Do you find the analysis sound?
